WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This workshop is designed for individuals who are being affected by change within their organizations yet may have had little influence in the change initiative. It is structured to help those individuals deal with the organizational change in a more positive way and decrease the accompanying distress and disruption in their lives. It is further intended to help individuals identify potential opportunities inherent in the impending change.

OVERVIEW

This workshop is based on the ChangeAbilitator™ - A Tool for Managing Change. This instrument is designed to help people who are affected by organizational change to think about the change and identify concerns that can be addressed and mastered. The six stages of concern addressed in the workshop are:

  • Information Concerns - needing more information about the change;

  • Personal Concerns - perceiving the change as a personal threat;

  • Operational Concerns - coordination, logistics, and time for implementing and supporting the change;

  • Impact Concerns - affect of change on the organization as a whole;

  • Collaboration Concerns - sharing with others how to implement the change;

  • Transforming Concerns - thinking about making major adjustments to the change or trying something totally different.

Participants in this workshop will view the film, Taking Charge of Change, and will complete the ChangeAbilitator™ questionnaire.

The workshop is partitioned into six modules that relate your ChangeAbilitator™ scores to the activities and applications presented in the course. Each module will be addressed with ideas for facilitating it in "back-home" situations.

Supplemental resources will be identified and demonstrated. The core data-gathering instrument will be used and applied to the overall design.

You will be exposed to module objectives, some theory related to each, an activity and process that elaborate on the session theme, and an application/integration opportunity.
